Many Many Thanks

"Thank You" just seems so inadequate when trying to express your deepest gratitude for something that’s been done for you, ya know?  I am, of course, speaking of the Baby Shower that Heather and Korrisa threw for me last Sunday – with a tremendous amount of help and input from my mom and Nanna.  It was definitely a group effort, and one that certainly paid off.  We made out like bandits!  After opening all of the gifts, I feared we would have to move to a bigger house!  It was a pleasure to see so many of our closest friends and family members.  This is sure one lucky kid on the way!  The Shower itself was a hoot, with one of the games being a guess of the circumference of my pregnant belly (which Grandma Shirley won), and the other being a jarred baby food identification game (won by Molly and Katie).  Male friends and family were also invited to the Shower, but they all magnetically attracted to one another (a result of their discomfort in a largely female-oriented activity) and ended up inspecting the cars parked out front while the festivities continued in the house!  Pretty hilarious really!  After presents, munchies, and a rich, sweet lemon cake, the afternoon came to an end and left us with a ridiculous quantity of baby stuff… seems so absurd the amount of stuff needed for a 7-8lb little person!?!?!  How did people do it decades ago when there weren’t things like Wipee Warmers and Diaper Genies???  My oh my, how times change.  Anyway, many many many thanks to everyone that helped put the Shower on, and to everyone who attended or sent gifts and well wishes our way.  We are now officially ready to welcome our little one home in style!  Thank you!
